Saw for the second time (on the Sundance channel) "The Art of the Steal." I can't say when I've seen something that was more infuriating! The Philadelphia so-called cultural elite are a disgrace to the art world. As (I think it was d'Arcy) one of the interviewees said. These are B players who want desperately to be considered important movers and shakers in the art world, and all they have done is make Philadelphia a joke.
Of all the nonsense that went on with the Barnes move, and all of the "movers and shakers" in the Phila. arts community who were involved, one very important name was conspicuously absent — Anne d'Harnoncourt. I would really like to know where she stood in all of this.
